Subject Pronoun Contractions

These tables show you all the short forms of subject pronouns followed by 'be' and 'have'.

We can only use the short form of a subject pronoun with the present forms of 'be' ('am', 'is', 'are'). We can't use the short form when using 'be' in the past ('was', 'were').

We can use the short form of a subject pronoun with have in the present and the past forms.
